    Come along and find out more about the Remarkable Southern Flinders Project at the upcoming community information session in Port Pirie. The session will be held at the Memorial Oval Function Centre on Monday 10th May from 6.30pm-7.30pm.

    The community information session is an opportunity to hear the latest updates on all the projects underway as part of creating this new precinct and talk to the project team and ask any questions you may have.

  • Survey closing in April

    A short community survey on marketing and promotion of the Southern Flinders Precinct, accessible from the Engagement Hub website is closing at the end of April.

    There is still time to take part and we would like to hear your local views to help guide our initial thinking on how to share the vision for the project to a wide range of audiences.

  • Construction to commence on Bluff lookout

    Thursday 15th April 2021

    Civil works to the access road for the District Council of Mount Remarkable’s Bluff Lookout project will commence in April. This is the first step towards the lookout’s construction. The new lookout will enable people to travel to the top of Southern Flinders in Wirrabara Forest by road and enjoy views across the region.

    The Department for Environment and Water will assist District Council of Mount Remarkable to deliver the project.

  • Second stage of Willowie mountain bike trail

    Construction of the second stage of new mountain bike trails in Mount Remarkable National Park, Willowie is set to get underway in April with Trailscapes an Adelaide-based trail construction company.

    Construction of new mountain biking trails at Willowie is one of the first new projects underway in the precinct.  

    This project will see the construction of approximately 18 km of new mountain bike trails in Mount Remarkable National Park at Willowie, north of Melrose, which has been planned with the help of Bike Melrose.
